Matt Reams, CFA
Matt serves as the Portfolio Manager for the firm’s Small Cap Value portfolios, which he founded at Buckhead Capital Management in 2000. Prior to his 18 years at BCM, he was a Portfolio Manager at Montag & Caldwell Investment Counsel in Atlanta, Georgia. At Montag, Matt was a voting member of the investment management team and co-managed the mutual fund department serving over 300 institutional clients and $3 billion in assets.
Previously, he was an investment consultant for a national consulting firm and an equity analyst for a Midwest investment-counseling firm. Matt received a B.A. degree in Religion and Philosophy from Furman University. He holds a CFA charter and is a member of both the CFA Institute and the Atlanta Society of Finance and Investment Professionals.
Married, with two sons and a daughter, Matt enjoys playing golf and coaching his children’s sports activities.
Will is a Client Service Associate at Waypoint. Prior to starting at Waypoint, he gained experience in capital markets and financial analysis by interning with Raymond James Financial and Rollins Inc. While at Raymond James, he worked for the Institutional Fixed Income Sales Manager in the Atlanta office. During his time at Rollins, Will worked in the Acquisitions department producing valuation reports for target companies.
His experience in the financial services industry, combined with his corporate valuation experience and Finance degree provide strong foundational support for his role at Waypoint Wealth Counsel.
Will Scott graduated from the University of Georgia in 2016 with a B.B.A. degree in Finance. Will is an active member at Dunwoody United Methodist Church, volunteering with the youth, International Mission teams, and Habitat for Humanity. He led a mission team to Central America in August of 2018 and is the youngest member of the DUMC Church Council. He also spends time working with the First Tee of Atlanta, helping to mentor Atlanta inner-city youth on character and personal growth via the game of golf.
Tim Daughtry, CFA
Tim is a Research Associate at Waypoint Wealth Counsel. Prior to joining Waypoint, he held the same role at Buckhead Capital Management since 2011. Tim received a B.S. with honors in Management and a concentration in Finance from the Georgia Institute of Technology. While an undergraduate he worked as an intern in investment management at Edge Capital Partners and as an intern in business valuation at Adams Capital.
Tim also served as a Director for the Georgia Tech Student Foundation Investments Committee where he was responsible for researching equities and managing the student endowment portfolio. He holds a CFA charter and is a member of both the CFA Institute and the Atlanta Society of Finance and Investment Professionals.
In his free time, Tim likes to play golf and the guitar. He and his wife also enjoy attending Georgia Tech football games.
Frank Press, CPA
Frank Press is a Research Associate at Waypoint Wealth Counsel. Prior to joining Waypoint, Frank was a healthcare investment banking analyst at Wedbush Securities, focusing on the Life Sciences and Medtech industries. While at Wedbush he was an instrumental part of several deal teams, helping to close a multitude of deals ranging from private placements to IPOs to M&A. Prior to Wedbush, Frank worked as an Experienced Audit Associate in the Investment Management Audit Group of Deloitte & Touche LLP. In his role at Deloitte, Frank worked extensively with the firm’s largest mutual fund and investment management clients, assisting in the external audit and testing of internal controls of such funds.
Frank is a CPA. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting and a Bachelor of Sciences in Financial Economics from the University of Redlands
